Saving Money on Pre-employment Background Checks

There are ways to save money when you need to have a pre-employment background check performed on a potential employee. You could first review the public records for your state. Depending on what state you’re in, court records may be online. Otherwise, you may need to send someone down to the courthouse to pull the records. Of course, be aware that this approach only tells you about any incidents involving the applicant within your state. It tells you nothing about what the applicant may have been involved with elsewhere.

For information about anything you might believe your job applicant did in another state, you would need to go to your local police department and request a criminal background check on the person in question. It isn’t free though; there are administrative charges involved.
